ITTF World Tour Hong Kong open was held from June 4th to 9th with a total of 5 titles, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mix doubles were held. There were many matches between Japanese players for both men’s and women’s indicating intense competition for the Olympic games qualification.

Men’s results:

LIN Gaoyuan (China) claimed his singles title, followed by HARIMOTO Tomokazu (Japan) in second place. The pairing for final was a rematch of 2018 World Tour Grand Finals and, this time, LIN Gaoyuan cleared his name. MIZUTANI Jun (Japan) was defeated by HARIMOTO Tomokazu in the quarter final ended up the top 8.

LIN Gaoyuan/ LIANG Jingkun (China) , who had made it to the top 4, won the men’s doubles title. Surprisingly, MORIZONO Masataka made a partnership with YOSHIMURA Maharu, they were defeated by JANG Woojin/ LIM Jonghoon (Korea), the runner-up of Hong Kong open.

Women’s results:

WANG Yidi (China) secured women’s single top prize, beating ISHIKAWA Kasumi, SHIBATA Saki, and ITO Mima(Japan), and ITO Mima took the second place. In the semi-final, ITO Mima faced with HIRANO Miu(Japan), both of them had beaten Chinese players. The notable match between “MiuMima” ended up ITO Mima’s records.

CHEN Ke/MU Zi (China) won the title for women’s doubles, with JEON Jihee / YOO Eunchong(Korea) in second place. Although KIHARA Miyuu/ NAGASAKI Miyu (Japan) lost to the champion pair, they brought a dazzling victory against ISHIKAWA Kasumi/ HIRANO Miu (Japan) ended up at the top 4.

Mix doubles results:

Mix doubles champion was won by LIN Yun-Ju/ CHENG I-Ching (Chinese Taipei) and LEE Sangsu/ CHOI Hyojoo ^(Korea) took the second prize. In the round of 16, HARIMOTO Tomokazu/ HAYATA Hina (Japan) faced with the home players WONG Chun Ting/ DOO Hoi Kem (Hong Kong). With home cheering, WONG Chun Ting/ DOO Hoi Kem won the match and excited the audience. Although the Japanese pair couldn’t train enough, they have a large potential, so don’t take your eyes off the Japanese pair even in the Seamaster 2019 ITTF World Tour Platinum LION Japan Open from 12th June.
