LION ITTF・ATTU Asian Cup Yokohama 2019 was held between 5th and 7th of May, at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium.

HARIMOTO Tomokazu, NIWA Koki, ISHIKAWA Kasumi and HIRANO Miu joined from Japan

Finals ended up being China against China matches for both men’s and ladies; giving China yet another opportunity after Qatar Open to showcase its leading strength.

Men’s final results

FAN Zhendong (China, world rank 1) won his consecutive victory, and MA Long (China, world rank 11) came in second.
Third place playoff turned out to be between the two Japanese players, and NIWA Koki won 4-2 against HARIMOTO Tomokazu, making it his successful revenge match from last year.

Ladies final results

Finals was held between ZHU Yuling (China, world rank 2) and CHEN Meng (China, world rank 3). ZHU won with her steady performance.
Although ZHU was not able to get a seat at the world championship singles team, but clearly displayed her potential with three consecutive wins at the Asia Cup.
ISHIKAWA Kasumi (world tank 6, ZEN-NOH) took third place after an extremely close match with FENG Tianwei (Singapore, world rank 10).
